Turkey’s automotive industry maintains a leading position in the country’s export basket.
As reported by the Anadolu agency, citing data from the Turkish Exporters Union (TIM), the export of automotive products from Turkey in July 2021 amounted to 1 billion 995 million 584 thousand dollars.
In terms of export volumes, the next is the chemical industry – 1 billion 918 million 975 thousand dollars, and the steel industry – 1 billion 743 million 906 thousand dollars.
The largest growth was demonstrated by the export of ornamental plants and products – 98.2 percent.
Overall, the industrial sector accounted for 77.2 percent of Turkey’s total exports. The growth in annual terms amounted to 10.6 percent – up to 12 billion 673 million 328 thousand dollars.
Exports of agricultural products last month increased by 4.1 percent – up to 2 billion 33 million 337 thousand dollars, the mining industry – by 28.3 percent – up to 477 million 787 thousand dollars.
Supplies of industrial products to the EU in the reporting period increased by 13 percent to $ 7 billion. The share of exports to the countries of the European continent amounted to 57.1 percent. Exports to the Middle East amounted to $ 2.6 billion, to Africa – $ 1.4 billion, to Southeast Asia – $ 1.3 billion, and to North America – $ 1.2 billion.
The largest volume of exports was from Istanbul – $ 6.8 billion, Kocaeli – $ 1.3 billion, and Izmir – $ 940 million.
