Turkey has administered more than 107.64 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine since the country launched a vaccination campaign in January, official data showed on Saturday.

More than 53.39 million people have received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, while more than 43.43 million are fully vaccinated, the health ministry said.

Data shows that 86% of the country’s adult population have received at least one dose of the two-dose vaccine.

Turkey also administered a third booster injection to more than 10.11 million people.

The ministry recorded 25,861 new coronavirus contaminations and 228 deaths in the past 24 hours.

No less than 341,221 virus tests have been carried out during the past day.

Since December 2019, the pandemic has killed more than 4.74 million people in at least 192 countries and regions around the world, with more than 231.6 million cases reported worldwide, according to Johns Hopkins University.
