Turkey and Russia aim to deepen economic cooperation


Turkey and Russia agreed to further develop cooperation in the fields of energy, natural gas, mining and oil industries, electricity and nuclear energy.

The head of the Turkish Ministry of Trade, Mehmet Mush, told reporters following the results of the 17th joint meeting of the Mixed Intergovernmental Russian-Turkish Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

The minister noted that the listed industries “constitute an important dimension of bilateral trade and economic relations” between the two countries.

According to him, thanks to cooperation between the two countries, solutions can be found to many regional and global problems, in particular, in the Black Sea basin.

The head of the department also said that Turkey and the Russian Federation have reached an agreement on deepening cooperation in the automotive industry and pharmaceuticals.

The minister noted that simplification of customs procedures could play a significant role in the development of bilateral trade.
