Turkey remains engaged in multilateral dialogue and cooperation in the Black Sea, Vice President Fuat Oktay said on Sunday.
Speaking at the 7th International Blue Black Sea Congress (BBSC) in Istanbul, Fuat Oktay said: “In the Black Sea, which is an important part of the ‘Blue Homeland’, we remain committed to multilateral dialogue and cooperation, under the leadership of our president, on the basis of the concept of regional ownership. “
“In other words, we believe that the best solution to the problems of the Black Sea region can come from the countries that make it up,” he added.
Oktay stressed that the growing cooperation and solidarity between the riparian countries will extend to the region, from the Balkans to the Caucasus, and make the Black Sea and its surroundings “more prosperous”.
Turkey, whose coastline is the longest of the Black Sea coast (1,695 km), firmly believes that peace and stability are essential conditions for the prosperity of trade and investment, he said. .
Vice-President Oktay said the two-day congress on economy, energy, security and transport, as well as the Caucasus and the Balkans, is of “extreme importance”.
