The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Othman Jerandi, met his Swiss counterpart, Ignazio Cassis, on Thursday.
This is what emerges from a statement made public on the official Facebook page of the Tunisian diplomacy and consulted by the Anadolu Agency.
During this meeting, the two officials discussed the distinguished relations of friendship and cooperation between Tunisia and Switzerland as well as the means to strengthen them, in particular by scheduling a number of bilateral meetings and visits.
On this occasion, Jerandi informed his Swiss counterpart of Tunisia’s final preparations to host the 18th Francophonie Summit on the island of Djerba in November 2021, while welcoming Switzerland’s participation in this important event, given that ‘this is a crucial step for the promotion of the values of coexistence and cooperation, the same source reads.
The island of Djerba will host, on November 20 and 21, 2021, the Francophonie Summit under the theme “Connectivity in diversity: the digital vector of development and solidarity in the French-speaking world”.
