The Tunisian Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday that on the 129th day of the national vaccination campaign which began on March 13, 35,292 doses of anti-Covid vaccines had been administered (Monday, July 19, 2021).
This emerges from the daily epidemiological report published by the ministry on its official Facebook page and consulted by the Anadolu Agency.
The number of anti-Covid doses administered since the start of the campaign has reached 2,420,468 and that of those registered on the Evax.tn platform 3,634,833.
According to the same report, some 825,410 people have already received both doses of the vaccine and are thus fully vaccinated and some 111,688 have received the first dose alone.
It should be remembered that the Tunisian Ministry of Health organizes, on an exceptional basis, open days of vaccination against the coronavirus for the benefit of all Tunisian citizens over the age of 18, during the two days of Eid al- Adha.
The Minister of Health, Faouzi Mehdi explained, during a press conference held on Monday, that Tunisians wishing to be vaccinated had to register on the “Evax” vaccination platform, then go to one of the 29 vaccination centers open occasionally, from July 20 at 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. the next day.
He added that 150 new vaccination centers will open their doors, in parallel with the launch of vaccination in private pharmacies, stressing that all vaccinations will be free, whether in the public or private sector.
Tunisia is hit by a fourth wave of the pandemic, particularly virulent, with a surge in the number of daily contaminations by the coronavirus in a country where hospital services are desperate to strengthen oxygen stocks, while the hospital system, under -financed, struggling to meet demand for care, especially with the appearance of the new Indian variant Delta.
