Tran Quyet Chien went upstream to lower Nguyen Duc Anh Chien
On the opening day of the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards & Snooker Federation (HBSF) 2024 – MIN Table 2024 championship on the morning of December 21, Tran Quyet Chien faced Nguyen Duc Anh Chien in the men’s 3-band carom content. This “two battles” match recreates the encounter in the semi-finals of the 2024 Molinari 3-cushion carom billiards tournament not long ago. In the most recent confrontation, Quyet Chien was unable to win a ticket to the finals, losing to Anh Chien.
Both Tran Quyet Chien and Nguyen Duc Anh Chien played very cautiously when rematching at the HBSF 2024 billiards championship. On the 18th cue’s turn, while leading 18-22, the cueist born in 1984 had a series of 5 points to lead 23-22. Quyet Chien continued to score 8 more points in the series, leading 31-22.
Tran Quyet Chien’s spectacular sprint with 13 points after 2 rounds was also the turning point of the match. Nguyen Duc Anh Chien was unable to turn the game around and had to accept final defeat 29-35, after 22 chances.
With this victory, Tran Quyet Chien successfully “collected his debt” against Anh Chien. These two players will continue to play this afternoon to compete for a ticket to round 32 of the HBSF 2024 billiards championship.

The men’s 3-band carom content has 64 players competing from the first round, playing in a 2-loss format (hitting 35 points, not equal). The next 32 players will play knock-out. From round 32 to semi-finals, matches touch 40 points, knockout. The final match of the championship will be played to 50 points.
This 2024 HBSF billiards championship is very attractive with the appearance of many famous players of Vietnamese 3-cushion carom. Besides the players of the World Carom Billiards Federation (UMB) are Tran Quyet Chien, Tran Thanh Luc, Bao Phuong Vinh, Tran Duc Minh, Chiem Hong Thai… excellent names are competing in the Korean professional tournament. The player who won the men’s 3-cushion carom championship at the HBSF 2024 billiards championship received 100 million VND in prize money. The runner-up will receive 40 million VND, while the 3rd place winner will receive 15 million VND. In addition, there are 2 additional prizes for “best game” (match with highest scoring performance and “biggest series”, each prize receives 5 million VND.
Besides men’s 3-cushion carom, this HBSF 2024 billiards championship has competitions such as: women’s 3-cushion carom, men’s 9-ball pool and women’s 9-ball pool.
