Stock Market 2025: The trend of decline in the stock market continues in the year 2025. So far this year, the Sensex has fallen by about 2780 points or 3.60 percent. Whereas Nifty has seen a decline of about 810 points or 3.50 percent. Whereas in September, Sensex and Nifty have fallen by 12 percent and 13 percent respectively. At present, investors are facing huge losses due to the market decline in the year 2025. The market cap of BSE listed companies has decreased by about Rs 32 lakh crore between January 1 and January 27, 2025.
Shock of Rs 32 lakh crore to investors
Due to the decline in the stock market this year, investors have lost about Rs 32 lakh crore. At market close on December 31, 2024, the market cap of BSE listed companies was Rs 4,41,95,106.44 crore. Whereas today i.e. on 27 January 2025 it has reduced to Rs 4,10,08,630.76 crore. That means there has been a decrease of about Rs 32 lakh crore.
What was the condition of other indexes?
There has been a 5.5 percent decline in Bank Nifty in 2025, while there has been a weakness of about 3 percent in Nifty IT index. While the midcap index has declined by more than 10 percent, the BSE 500 index has weakened by about 6.5 percent. BSE FMCG index declined by 2.82 percent while Smallcap index declined by more than 12 percent.
There has been a decline of 9.85 percent in BSE Consumer Goods Index and 11.8 percent decline in Consumer Durables Index. BSE PSU index has weakened by 7.3 percent while Auto index has weakened by 4.23 percent. There has been a weakness of 4.16 percent in the Metal Index while there has been a weakness of 5.72 percent in the Oil and Gas Index. This year the realty index has weakened by 19.84 percent and the power index by 9.38 percent.
