Tokayev: Almost a third of the population of Kazakhstan was vaccinated against COVID-19

To date, 31% of the population of Kazakhstan is fully vaccinated against a new type of coronavirus infection. This was stated by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev in a video message from the participants of the global summit on the fight against COVID-19.

The event, entitled “End the Pandemic and Improve Recovery”, was organized as part of the 76th UNGA High Level Session.

Tokayev noted that contributing to the global “collective immunity”, Kazakhstan was among the first ten countries of the planet to develop its own vaccine – QazVac.

According to the President of Kazakhstan, QazVac has recently been improved to protect against the delta strain of the coronavirus.

The head of state noted the importance of working on mutual recognition of vaccination certificates to help global tourism and business cope with the consequences of COVID-19.
