TIM introduces something new in the Italian mobile telephony panorama: the simplified activation of eSIMs. On the occasion of the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy S25 (S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra), TIM customers will be able to activate a new mobile line or switch to eSIM with a simple click, directly from their smartphone, without the need to scan the traditional QR Code The new procedure, based on the GSMA “eSIM Discovery” standard, allows you to associate the eID code of the eSIM with the telephone number in an immediate and intuitive way. The initiative, initially available to customers who purchase the new Samsung Galaxy S25 at TIM stores, will be progressively extended to other compatible devices.
“The objective is to offer an increasingly fluid and digital customer experience”, TIM declares in an official note. “This innovation, in addition to simplifying the lives of our customers, also contributes to reducing environmental impact by eliminating the need to print and manage QR Codes.” TIM specifies that the traditional activation methods via QR Code remain valid for online purchases and for other devices.
For the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy S25, TIM is also offering a promotion with TIMFin financing which allows you to purchase the devices at half price, with installments starting from 15 euros per month and the possibility of obtaining a further discount with the exchange of an old one smartphone (TIM Revaluate option). The new models can already be ordered online and in TIM stores, with free home deliveries. Availability in stores is scheduled for the end of January.
