It is necessary to fill Form 10D
Form 10D has to be filled to get pension from EPF account. Form 10D is an important document issued by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), through which monthly pension can be claimed under the Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS 95). This form is filled by the main claimant of the pension. For example, the EPF member or in the event of the death of the member, his family members, such as the deceased’s spouse, their children, dependent parents or nominee.

These documents have to be submitted along with Form 10D
– Birth certificates of all family members
– Aadhar card
– 3 attested passport size photographs of husband and wife
– Printed bank passbook and cheque with member’s name, for verification

Who can get pension under EPS
There are many options given in Form 10D to claim pension. The pension claimant has to select one of the options given below:
- Superannuation pension : This pension can be claimed by the member after completing the age of 58 years.
- Reduced Pension : This pension can be claimed by the member after leaving the job between the age of 50 to 58 years.
- disability pension: If a member has to leave his job due to disability, disability pension can be claimed.
- Widow and Children Pension : This pension can be claimed by the spouse and children of the member after his/her death.
- Parents : If the deceased member does not have a spouse or children, then their dependent parents You can claim pension.
- Nominee Pension:If the member does not have any family (spouse and children), then his/her nominee can claim it.

How to fill online application for EPS
EPF members need to follow these steps while filling the online application for receiving pension under EPS:
- Visit EPFO website http://www.epfindia.gov.in.
- Click on ‘For Employees’ under ‘Services’.
- Scroll down and click on ‘Online Services’.
- Login to Unified Member e-Sewa portal by entering UAN and password.
- Click on ‘Online Service’ and select Form 10D from the available options.
- Verify your bank account information.
- Accept by ticking the Terms and Conditions box.
- Click on Proceed to process the online claim.
- Verify the details of family members.
- Upload the passbook in your name by clicking on Choose file.
- After checking all the uploaded information, click on ‘get OTP on your Aadhaar registered number’.
- After filling the OTP received on the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar, submit the form.
