The minimum retirement pension for people over 65 with a dependent spouse will rise significantly next year. This is stated in the report Projections of Public Pension Expenditure in Spain, published by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration.
In this way, the annual fee will jump from the current 13,526.8 euros (966 euros per month in 14 payments) up to the 14,453 planned from 2024 (1,032 euros monthly in 14 payments).
The increase reported by the ministry of José Luis Escrivá is 7% by 2024which raises the 4% forecast for the rest of the retirement pensions for the aforementioned year, as detailed The Economist.
But, according to Moncloa’s forecasts, 2024 is just the first step. Thus, in 2025 another increase will be reflected, of 5.3%, to reach 15,227 euros per year (1,087 per month), and another 4% in 2026, up to 15,837 euros per year (1,130 per month).
The increase cycle would culminate in 2027 with a limit of 16,472 euros per year and a monthly payment of 1,176 for this type of retirees, the most common among these types. These figures would mark an increase of 22% with respect to current quotas.
