The second season of Loki promises to continue dazzling us with the antics and evolution of the God of Lies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (UCM). After six films, a series and a shocking post-credits appearance, the character played by Tom Hiddleston has come an incredible path. From his beginning as a jealous brother to becoming a powerful villain and finally a selfless hero, every chapter of his life has influenced his path to Loki season 2.
To be fully prepared for this new installment, I recommend watching or re-watching some key MCU films that will help contextualize Loki’s story. until now. Additionally, it marks the return of her sister Hela and her role in the destruction of Asgard, an important event for the overall plot of the MCU. In this film, Loki finds himself at a moral crossroads that leads him to question his identity and loyalties.
Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
In this film, Thanos arrives to challenge the heroes and searches for the Tesseract that Loki had previously stolen. Tragedy comes when Loki tries to confront Thanos and suffers a definitive death.This event has a profound impact on Loki’s evolution, leaving an indelible mark on his quest to redeem himself. Furthermore, he marks a before and after in the audience’s perception of the god and becomes one of the first to die to defeat Thanos.
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Although Loki dies in Infinity War, Endgame introduces a time travel plot involving a past version of Loki. His escape with the Tesseract has significant consequences for the MCU timeline and takes him to an unexpected place. The film explores how Loki’s decisions can affect reality, triggering events crucial to his future.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023)
This film introduces Kang the Conqueror, a powerful and ruthless variant of Kang who threatens the stability of the multiverse. His introduction into the MCU is crucial to understanding the events that will lead to the second season of Loki.Loki finds himself immersed in the complexity of time and variants, further expanding his understanding of the universe and his role in it.
