According to Reuters, President Trump signed an executive order withdrawing from the Paris Agreement on climate change in the presence of supporters gathered at the Capital One Arena in Washington. “I will immediately withdraw from this unfair and biased Paris climate agreement,” Mr. Trump said before signing the order.
“America will not sabotage domestic industries while China continues to pollute with impunity,” according to Mr. Trump. Immediately afterward, Mr. Trump also signed a letter to the United Nations announcing the above move.

“It is important that America remains a leader in environmental issues. Joint efforts under the Paris Agreement have made a difference, but together we need to go further and faster,” according to him. Guterres.
During his first presidential term, Mr. Trump decided to withdraw the United States from the Paris Agreement because he believed that activities to combat climate change were too expensive. Since 200 countries signed on to join the Paris Agreement in 2015, the US was the first country to withdraw from the agreement. Then, on his first day in office in 2021, former US President Joe Biden signed an executive order bringing the US back into the Paris Agreement.
During the election campaign, Mr. Trump repeatedly pledged to increase US fossil fuel production, instead of supporting renewable energy sources such as wind energy. He also pledged to cut US President Joe Biden’s administration’s climate subsidies and continue energy exploration, including tax breaks for oil, gas and coal producers.
