The UN condemned Israel for adding a number of Palestinian NGOs to the “terrorist list”

Israel’s listing of a number of Palestinian groups and NGOs as “terrorist organizations” is an unfair attack against civil society organizations. This was stated by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet.

According to her, the organizations included in the Israeli list of “terrorist organizations” are among the most respected human rights structures in the occupied Palestinian territories and have been closely cooperating with the UN for decades.

Israel’s decision is nothing more than an attack on human rights defenders, NGOs, freedom of organization and expression in Palestine, Bachelet said.

At the same time, the UN High Commissioner praised the activities of the six human rights organizations included in the list and called on Tel Aviv to immediately cancel this decision.

“Defending your rights before the UN or any other international structure is not a terrorist act. The protection of women’s rights in the occupied Palestinian territories is not terrorism, just as the legal assistance provided to the detained Palestinians is not terrorism, ”Bachelet said.

Earlier, on October 22, Israel announced the inclusion of 6 Palestinian human rights organizations associated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, in the list of “terrorist organizations.”
