Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that in the Lok Sabha elections, the public has given a befitting reply to dictatorial powers and anti-constitutional people and rejected the 10-year divisive, hateful and polarizing politics of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He said that the Congress will continue to work together with the allies of the opposition alliance INDIA inside and outside Parliament. In Delhi Mallikarjun Kharge said these things in the Congress Party’s Extended Working Committee (CWC) meeting on Saturday. During this, he said that in the assembly elections to be held in various states at the end of this year, the opposition parties have to be defeated at any cost and our government has to be formed.
People have given a reply to anti-constitutional forces: Kharge
Mallikarjun Kharge said that by expressing faith in us, the public has given a strong reply to the dictatorial powers and anti-constitutional forces. The voters of Hindustan have rejected the BJP’s 10 years of divisive, hateful and polarizing politics. In this party meeting, the current Congress President thanked Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the leaders of the constituent parties of the opposition alliance INDIA and the leaders and workers of his party for the better performance of the party in the 2024 general elections.

He said that the Congress Working Committee congratulates all the newly elected members of the party (CWC) who fought and won the elections in adverse circumstances. The Congress President said that on this occasion I would also like to thank Sonia Gandhi ji, who actively participated in the election preparations, alliance meetings and guided us all on the basis of her long experience. I would also like to congratulate people’s favorite Rahul Gandhi, who made issues like the Constitution, economic inequality, unemployment and social justice and harmony a public issue.
According to Kharge, the 4,000-km-long ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ led by Rahul Gandhi two years ago and the 6,600-km-long ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ helped the Congress connect with the people and understand their problems, concerns and aspirations. He said, “I would like to specially congratulate Priyanka Gandhi who campaigned vigorously in Amethi and Rae Bareli as well as other parts of the country. I would like to thank all my senior colleagues of the Congress who worked as a team.”
The Congress President said, “We have to always remember that with hard work and determination we can defeat even the biggest opponent.” He said that wherever the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ and ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ passed, there was an increase in the vote percentage and seats of the Congress. Kharge said, “In Manipur, from where the Nyay Yatra started, we won both the seats. We got seats in many states of the North-East like Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya. We emerged as the largest party in Maharashtra. Across the country, the Congress Party got immense support from the people to save democracy and the Constitution.” According to him, the seats of the Congress Party increased in Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Backward Class, Minority and rural areas.

He said, “We have to make further efforts to make our influence among the urban voters and strengthen the party in these areas as well.” Kharge said, “While we are happy with the good performance of the Congress party in some states, we will also have to pay special attention to those states where the results were contrary to the Congress party’s possibilities and expectations. Where we performed well in the assembly and formed the government but could not repeat that performance in the Lok Sabha.” According to him, “We will soon discuss all these things separately and we will also take whatever immediate steps are required.”
Expressing gratitude to the allies of the ‘India’ alliance, Kharge said, “We will work together with the allies of the India alliance in and outside the Parliament. The important issues on which we went into the election campaign are issues of concern to the common people, so they will always remain in our mind. We will continue to raise these questions of the public in and outside the Parliament.” Kharge said, “We humbly accept the public opinion. A large section of people has trusted us. We will make every possible effort to maintain their trust. We have to remain disciplined. We have to remain united.” He emphasized, “Our work will continue, whether we are in power or not. We will have to stay among the people 24 hours a day, 365 days, and raise the issues of the people. Elections are to be held in some states in a few months, we have to defeat the opposition parties at any cost and form our government. If people want change, we have to become their strength.”
