Bulgarian President Rumen Radev instructed the formation of a new government of the party “There is such a people” (ETN).
ETH won the majority of seats in parliament following the July 11 early parliamentary elections. In total, the party won 65 seats in the 240-mandate parliament of the 46th convocation.
Plamen Nikolov became a candidate for the post of head of government.
“The people of Bulgaria expect you to rally at the front against the collapsed, corrupt (former Prime Minister Boyko Borisov) model of power,” Radev said at the ceremony of presenting Nikolov with a mandate to form the Cabinet.
The candidate for the post of prime minister, in turn, assured that he would make efforts to form the government on time.
Plamen Nikolov has over 15 years of experience in business development and project management. The politician speaks English, German and Russian.
The party “There is such a people” has seven days to agree and submit for parliamentary approval the composition of the new government.
According to the Bulgarian constitution, in order to obtain a vote of confidence, the new government must be supported by a majority of parliamentary deputies. In total, he will need to enlist the support of 121 deputies.
Otherwise, the right to form a government will pass to the second largest political force in parliament.
