The opening and closing films of the 9th Bosphorus Film Festival have been announced

The festival, of which Anadolu Agency (AA) is the Global Communication Partner, will be held on October 23-30 by the Boğaziçi Culture and Arts Foundation, with the contributions of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, General Directorate of Cinema, in partnership with TRT.

The festival will be opened with Danis Tanovic’s film “Not So Friendly Neighborhood Affair”, which made its world premiere at the 27th Sarajevo Film Festival.

The last film of Bosnian director Danis Tanovic, who won both the Oscar and the Golden Globe in the “Best International Film” category with his first feature film No Man’s Land, takes place in Sarajevo, and despite having very different characters from each other, they are friends and neighbors. It tells about the rivalry of Sarajevo’s two best meatball masters.

The film, which draws attention with its subject, will make its Turkey premiere with the participation of director Danis Tanovic after the opening ceremony of the festival.

The closing film tells the life story of Louis Wain

“The Electrical Life of Louis Wain”, which will be screened on October 29, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Claire Foy, will be the closing film of the festival.

Directed by Will Sharpe, the film is about the extraordinary life story of British artist Louis Wain, who brings a completely different perspective to the perception of cats in society with his entertaining paintings.

Taking the audience on a journey through time from the late 1800s to the 1930s, the film had its world premiere at the 48th Telluride Film Festival. The film, which was also screened at the Toronto Film Festival, tells the story of Louis Wain’s own life and his great love with his wife, Emily Richardson, while busy solving the “electrically charged” mysteries of the world.
