Rescuers removed the bodies of three more people, including one minor, from under the rubble of a residential building that had collapsed on the eve of an entrance in the center of Batumi, Interfax reports with reference to the Georgian media.
The death toll rose to five. Earlier, rescuers removed the body of a deceased woman from the ruins. Two people were taken to the hospital in serious condition, one of whom, a middle-aged man, is in intensive care.
The rescue operation to find victims, in which about 300 people are involved, continues. At the same time, the equipment is actually not used; all the work is carried out by rescuers manually, so as not to harm the survivors.
Earlier, a man and two children were rescued, rescuers pulled them out of cars parked near the house and littered with debris.
The reasons for the collapse of the house are still unknown.
