The premiere of PayDay 3 has been complicated. The 10 years of content between its prequel and this installment have been bad for the new Starbreeze Studios game. The shadow of that PayDay 2 is so big and the problems of this PayDay 3 are so relevant that that 2013 game has 4 times more playersthan its sequel. No generational replacement.
Although the Swedish studio has implemented certain patches to improve the stability of the PayDay 3 servers, it still has a major obstacle to overcome: the impossibilityof play offline, something that causes players to be conditioned by problems on the servers. A wheel of problems that has led an important part of its community to execute a mass exodus towards that game from 10 years ago.
We are talking, yes, about the figuresof players on Steam. We cannot make the same comparison on other platforms, including Game Pass, a service that debuted PayDay 3 at launch. However, the data on Valve’s platform is jaw-dropping. At the time of writing this news, PayDay 2 has 22,517 players on their servers, while PayDay 3 slightly exceeds 3,000 simultaneous users.
If we take into account that in the United States it is still early morning and in our territory not everyone has the opportunity to play in the morning, it is better to take a look at the last 24 hours. Here the difference is abysmal with PayDay 2 surpassing its sequel by 4 with 34,246 players compared to 8,900 in the last installment.
What did we think of PayDay 3?
The server signed the PayDay 3 analysis last September and as much as the game’s foundations are good, with very interesting movement around the stage and more striking maps, launch errors could play tricks on the game, and it seems that that same thing is happening. Unstable servers forced do not recommend the game and that bad image will undoubtedly affect the future of PayDay 3.
