The number of victims of floods and mudflows in the Black Sea region of Turkey has reached 44 people. It was reported on Saturday by the Emergency Prevention and Management Administration (AFAD) under the Turkish government.
According to the report, 36 people died in the northern province of Kastamonu, 7 in Sinop, and one local resident in Bartin.
AFAD said staff from all relevant services are on the ground and continue to evacuate, search and rescue people.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited the natural disaster zone in the north of the country yesterday. The head of state assured that the state will do everything possible to eliminate the consequences of natural disasters in the north and south of the country.
