In Belarus, over the past three years, the number of cybercrimes has increased tenfold.
BelTA informs about this with reference to the senior investigator for especially important cases of the Investigative Committee of Belarus Ivan Sudnikovich.
He noted that the first cybercrimes were recorded in 2000.
According to Sudnikovich, the Committee has done a tremendous job, special police units were created, and later in the Investigative Committee, which were engaged in the disclosure and investigation of these crimes.
After the implementation of such measures, the growth of cybercrime has been contained at about 2-2.5 thousand crimes since 2010, he said.
Attacks occur in most cases from the territory of Ukraine, Russia, and if no measures are taken, in 2025 the number of cybercrimes will be about 100 thousand, the investigator stated.
Ivan Sudnikovich emphasized that various measures and methods are used to counter cybercrime, both in the banking sector and in law enforcement.
