The national emblem will be replaced by the picture of Sheikh Abdullah on the Jammu and Kashmir Police Medal, a big decision of the government


Jammu : The government made a big announcement on Monday regarding the Jammu and Kashmir Police medals. According to this, the portrait of Sheikh Abdullah on the Jammu and Kashmir Police Medals for Gallantry and Service will now be replaced with the National Emblem. Sheikh Abdullah was the founder of the National Conference and the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.

Orders were issued from the Home Department regarding the imposition of the Ashoka Pillar mark on the medals. Earlier, the government had changed the name of ‘Sher-e-Kashmir Police Medal’ to Jammu and Kashmir Police Medal. Simultaneously, Sher-e-Kashmir Medal for Meritorious Service was renamed as Jammu and Kashmir Police Medal for Meritorious Service. Seeing this decision, the politics of the state is also being linked.

In fact, the founder and former Chief Minister of the National Conference, Sheikh Abdullah was called by his supporters by the name ‘Sher-e-Kashmir’. This title was the most popular title of Sheikh Abdullah and he was mostly known by this name even among the common people. There are many hospitals, stadiums, roads and many other buildings across the state in the name of ‘Sher-e-Kashmir’.
