HBO and PlayStation Productions have announced that the second season of The Last of Us, consisting of seven episodes, will debut in April on HBO Max in the USA. In Italy it should be broadcast on the Sky circuit. Set five years after the events of the first season, the new season will see Joel and Ellie face an even more dangerous and unpredictable world, while also managing an internal conflict that will pit them against each other. In the cast of the second season we will find Pedro Pascal in the role of Joel, Bella Ramsey in that of Ellie, Gabriel Luna as Tommy and Rutina Wesley in the role of Maria.
New entries, previously announced, include Kaitlyn Dever (Abby), Isabela Merced (Dina), Young Mazino (Jesse), Ariela Barer (Mel), Tati Gabrielle (Nora), Spencer Lord (Owen), Danny Ramirez (Manny) and Jeffrey Wright (Isaac). Catherine O’Hara will appear as a guest star. The Last of Us, based on the acclaimed video game series developed by Naughty Dog for PlayStation consoles, is written and produced by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. The series is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television and is executive produced by Carolyn Strauss, Jacqueline Lesko, Cecil O’Connor, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan and Evan Wells, with Halley Gross serving as writer and co-executive producer.
