A recent survey conducted by LinkedIn, Future of Recruiting, the largest professional network in the world, reveals that recruiters in Europe and the United States see artificial intelligence (AI) as a determining factor for the future of the recruitment industry. According to the study, which involved over 2,500 professionals, 73% of those interviewed recognize the importance of keeping up to date with technological developments to maintain a competitive advantage.
Almost half of the recruiters interviewed (45%) expect an increasing use of AI and automation in selection processes over the next 3-5 years, a trend supported by the 14% increase in professionals adding AI-related skills to their LinkedIn profiles over the past year. Optimism is widespread: three out of five recruiting professionals (62%) view the impact of AI favorably, especially for the benefits in terms of time to dedicate to human interactions, improvement of productivity and facilitation of candidate engagement.
Despite a general slowdown in hiring, 87% of recruiters in Europe and the United States feel confident about the strength and resilience of the job market. This confidence drives them to actively explore emerging technologies: over a third (35%) are already experimenting with generative AI to stay ahead of rapid industry changes.
To make recruiters more efficient and improve their ability to connect with candidates, LinkedIn has introduced artificial intelligence tools such as AI-assisted messaging. This tool has already shown promising results, increasing the acceptance rate of InMail by 40% and accelerating the response speed by 10%. Around three-quarters of users (74%) have saved time using this technology, and a substantial majority find it significantly helps strengthen connections with candidates.
LinkedIn continues to expand its offerings with features like AI-Assisted Messages now available in multiple languages, and an innovative LinkedIn Learning pilot that uses AI to provide personalized advice. Users can interact directly with selected instructors on specific topics, receiving tailor-made answers that take into account their career and desired skills.
