Turkey’s olive and olive oil exports increased by 57.4 percent in September compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 30 million 30 thousand dollars. Thus, the sector attracted attention as the sector that increased its exports the most in the agricultural group.
The sector received a 0.1 percent share from Turkey’s exports during the said period.
While Spain is the country to which Turkey’s olive and olive oil sector exports the most, 4 million 670 thousand dollars were exported to Spain in this period.
Spain with 3 million 794 thousand dollars, Germany with 3 million 724 thousand dollars, Iraq with 3 million 107 thousand dollars, Romania with 1 million 714 thousand dollars, Japan with 1 million 452 thousand dollars, Saudi Arabia with 1 million 230 thousand dollars and 1 million dollars. Ivory Coast was followed by Bulgaria with 649 thousand dollars and Israel with 527 thousand dollars.
It was noteworthy that the olive and olive oil sector received demand from Germany and the USA, which are Turkey’s leading export markets after Spain.

İzmir realized the highest export
On a provincial basis, companies from Izmir made the highest export volume of 8 million 328 thousand dollars in the olive and olive oil sector in September.
Izmir was followed by Istanbul with 4 million 192 thousand dollars, Manisa with 3 million 811 thousand dollars, Aydın with 3 million 790 thousand dollars and Hatay with 2 million 900 thousand dollars.
İzmir also took the lead in the increase in exports on the basis of value of the sector. İzmir’s olive and olive oil exports increased by 5 million 879 thousand dollars in September compared to the same period of the previous year.
In foreign sales, Manisa increased 1 million 526 thousand dollars, Ankara 1 million 294 thousand dollars, Hatay 1 million 145 thousand dollars, Aydın 1 million 72 thousand dollars.
In the said period, Ankara exported 1 million 646 thousand dollars of olive and olive oil.
