The Covid-19 epidemic broke out, VFF asked for a special mechanism for the Vietnamese team

In it, an official letter signed by VFF Vice President Tran Quoc Tuan announced the results of the draw for the third qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup and said that the Vietnamese team will have 5 away matches, including the match against Saudi Arabia in On September 2, he met the Chinese team on October 7, the Oman team on October 12, the Australian team on January 27, 2022, the Japanese team on March 29, 2022. 5 home matches include the match against Australia on September 9, against the Japanese team on November 11, against Saudi Arabia on November 16, against China on February 1, 2022, against Oman on March 24, 2022.
After that, VFF had another official letter signed by General Secretary Le Hoai Anh, asking permission from the authorities for the Vietnamese team to play at home in Hanoi. In addition, VFF also plans to set up a special working group, with members not only from VFF but also from relevant ministries, to take care of organizing matches in Hanoi while still ensuring ensure good implementation of the prevention of Covid-19 epidemic.
However, whether this working group is established or not depends on the consent of the authorities. A sports industry leader said that, based on the written report of the VFF, the General Department of Physical Education and Sports will send an official dispatch to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to submit to the Prime Minister, in which to ask the Prime Minister’s permission. directing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Immigration Department, the Ministry of Public Security… to coordinate to create a special mechanism for the VFF in welcoming foreign football teams to Vietnam for the World Cup qualifiers. as well as when the Vietnamese team returned from playing away from home.
On July 16, VFF must have an answer to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) whether it is eligible to organize or not. In case it is not possible to organize matches in Vietnam, VFF is forced to choose a foreign field as the home ground for the team under the guidance of coach Park Hang-seo.
In fact, if foreign teams come to Vietnam, they must be isolated for 14 or 21 days (depending on whether the team has had the Covid-19 vaccine or not) before considering training and playing. If Vietnam applies this, the organization of matches is impossible. Therefore, as mentioned above, Vietnam must have a special mechanism to be approved by the AFC.

If you have to rent a yard abroad, the estimated cost is up to several billion dong. Recently, there is information, VFF will rent a stadium in Thailand. According to a VFF official, this is inaccurate information.

In another playground, on July 9, AFC conducted a draw for the 2022 Asian U.23 qualifier. Accordingly, the Vietnam U.23 team will go to Taiwan to compete in this qualifying round from October 23 to 31. Vietnam is in Group I with the home teams U.23 Taiwan, U.23 Hong Kong, U.23 Myanmar.

If the competent authorities do not approve a special mechanism for the Vietnamese team, then after playing the match against Oman in the third qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup on October 12 away, Mr. Park and the players. The player will return to the country and quarantine for 14 days. That is, it will take until October 27 to complete the isolation period.

While the Asian U.23 qualifier kicks off in Taiwan on October 23. Mr. Park or flew directly to Taiwan from Oman…from October 13 and stayed here for about a week, waiting for the U.23 player to fly over. Or Mr. Park still returned to Vietnam and moved to Taiwan late when the Vietnam U.23 team played.

It is a difficult problem for VFF and Mr. Park if these situations happen.

Therefore, the sports industry and VFF hope that the competent authorities will allow the Vietnamese team to enjoy a special medical mechanism to achieve good results in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers and the U.23 qualifiers. Asia 2022.
