Sheet Politico On March 15, Senator Mark Kelly said he would sell his Tesla Model S after being called by billionaire Elon Musk as a “traitor” for visiting Ukraine just days after the country was suspended by the US aid.
“I am in Washington driving to work for the last time on my Tesla,” said Kelly, Democratic Party from Arizona, said in a video posted on social network X on March 14 (local time).
“When I bought this car, I didn’t think it would become a political issue. Every time I got on this car in the past 60 days, it reminded me of the level of damage that Mr. Elon Musk and (President Donald Trump are causing our country,” he said.

Billionaire Musk, the owner of Tesla and is currently the head of the Government Effectiveness (Doge) of President Trump, on 10.3 called Senator Kelly “traitor” after Mr. Kelly visited Ukraine.
Kelly, a former US navy pilot and astronaut worked with Mr. Musk’s SpaceX firm, quickly criticized Musk’s position.
“The traitor? Elon, if you do not understand that protecting freedom is the basic principle of what makes the greatness of the United States and keeps us safe, then maybe you should let our people understand that,” Mr. Kelly wrote on social networks on October 10.
In the latest video of abandoning the Tesla, the Senator said he bought a car because it ran as fast as the spacecraft. “But now, every time I drive, I feel like a mobile billboard for a man who is destroying the government and hurting the people. So Tesla, you are fired!” He said.
