After taking oath as PM for the third consecutive time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi did his first Mann Ki Baat on Sunday, January 30. In the 111th episode of Akashvani’s monthly radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’, PM Modi said that terming the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as the biggest election in the world, he said on Sunday that 65 crore people have exercised their franchise and reiterated their unwavering faith in the Constitution and the democratic system of the country. He said that today I also thank the countrymen for the fact that they have reiterated their unwavering faith in our Constitution and the democratic system of the country.
PM Modi said in Mann Ki Baat that the 2024 election was the biggest election in the world. Such a big election has never been held in any country in the world, in which 65 crore people have cast their votes. The Prime Minister congratulated the Election Commission and everyone involved in the voting process for successfully conducting the Lok Sabha elections. He mentioned the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign launched this year on World Environment Day and said that the campaign to plant trees under it is going on at a fast pace. He said, “Everyone is planting trees for their mother. Whether they are rich or poor, whether they are working women or housewives. This campaign has given an equal opportunity to express affection towards the mother.
Prime Minister Modi said that the campaign of planting trees in the name of mother will not only honor our mother but will also protect Mother Earth. The Prime Minister congratulated the countrymen on ‘Hool Diwas’ celebrated on 30 June and said that the tribal brothers and sisters of the country celebrate it with great pomp. Remembering the great freedom fighters Sido-Kanhu, he said that their sacrifice still inspires the countrymen. He also played a recording of some parts of a song in Santhali language dedicated to these two freedom fighters.
During his address, the Prime Minister also mentioned the Paris Olympics and expressed hope that the Indian team will perform well in it. He urged people to use the hashtag ‘Cheer4India’ to encourage the players. He said, “Through this hashtag we have to encourage our players…so maintain this momentum…this momentum of yours…will help in showing the magic of India to the world.” This is the first episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ after Modi assumed the post of Prime Minister for the third consecutive time. The last episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program was broadcast on 25 February. The broadcast of this program was postponed in view of the model code of conduct implemented after the announcement of the Lok Sabha elections. The Prime Minister had said in its 110th edition that the next time he will meet people through this program, he will meet them with new energy and new information.
