Terrorist remarks against Congressmen; Suspension for two SIs

Kochi: Two SIs have been suspended for making extremist remarks against protesting Congress workers in the Mofia case. Aluva SIR Vinod and Grade SI Rajesh have been suspended for making terrorist remarks in the custody report against the agitating Congress workers.

The remand report of three persons included a reference to terrorism. Both the officers were suspended by the DIG. The DIG has also asked the DySP to investigate the incident and submit a report.

Congress workers staged a protest in front of the police station demanding action against the CIA, whose name was mentioned in Mofia Parveen’s suicide note. The accused CIA was suspended at the end of the strike. But the reference to terrorism was included in the case registered against this agitation.

The report said that the images were taken from the top of a vehicle with water cannons and that it should be investigated whether it was spread in the name of terrorist links. It has been suggested that if they are released on bail, they could lead the riots. Al-Amin, Anas and Najeeb, who were arrested on charges of vandalism, have been remanded in custody pending trial. There are 1,4,5 accused in the case.
