Taliban delegation visits Uzbekistan to discuss trade relations

A Taliban delegation left the Afghan capital Kabul on Saturday for Uzbekistan to discuss trade relations with Uzbek officials.

Local TOLOnews reported that the Taliban delegation headed by Afghan Deputy Prime Minister Abdul Salam Hanafi visited Uzbekistan this morning to discuss trade relations and issues relating to the border crossing.

Hanafi told the channel before leaving Kabul that the delegation will meet with Uzbek officials in the town of Tarmiz.

He added that officials from the ministries of economy and trade, higher education, public health, the Afghan civil aviation authority and a number of businessmen are among the Delegation.

According to the same source, the delegation will discuss the strengthening of economic relations, electricity and rail links as well as bilateral relations.

On August 15, the Taliban took control of almost all of Afghanistan, alongside the final stage of the US military withdrawal which was completed at the end of the same month.
