President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon discussed the situation in Afghanistan with King Philip of Belgium, the press service of the Tajik leader said.
The meeting took place on Tuesday 12 October in Brussels.
An exchange of views took place on issues of ensuring security in Central Asia, establishing peace and stability in Afghanistan and creating favorable conditions for the peaceful development of this country.
The parties agreed that the security of the Central Asian countries is directly related to ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan.
It was noted that Tajikistan supports the early restoration of peace and stability in the neighboring country, and the UN should play a key role in advancing this process.
Emomali Rahmon once again recalled the firm position of Tajikistan on the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan.
The meeting also discussed issues of expanding mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation with Belgium and multilateral relations within the European Union.
