The coach must overcome the consequences with the taekwondo student’s family
On January 12, 2025, the VTF Inspection Board received a complaint from Mr. NTH, the parent of martial arts student: NTNM, 13 years old.
Through the denunciation, Mr. H reflects that NTNM was beaten by coach Nguyen Van Kin, who is also the president of Seung Ri Club – address: No. 151/1 Ho Nguyen Trung Street, Khue Trung Ward, Cam Le District, Da Nang and his wife. Dozens of clubs have committed acts of violence using bamboo whips and training equipment, causing injuries and psychological trauma.

The VTF Inspection Committee requested the Da Nang City Taekwondo Federation to urgently verify the above violence incident. Verify specific and truthful reports of acts of violence. Verify the legal status and validity of coaches and assistant coaches. Review the health and psychological condition of NTNM and coach Nguyen Van Kin’s direction to overcome the consequences with his family. It is recommended that steps be taken urgently before January 15 and reported to the VTF President.”
VTF leader said: “The behavior of the coach and assistant will be reviewed by the authorities. Any violation of the law will be punished, especially the violation of professional ethics is clear. We wait for the Inspection Committee VTF investigation and Da Nang Taekwondo Federation reported that VTF will revoke the club code, not allowing coaches and assistants to compete at the level, which means the club and coach will not be professionally recognized.”
Coach Van Kin explained to the newspaper Adolescent: “I use a small bamboo stick with a length of 50 cm in teaching. However, that bamboo stick is for me to correct the students’ movements. In addition, I use the bamboo stick to perform challenges , to increase the speed and strength of martial artists.” On January 14, the taekwondo club headed by this coach was officially suspended.
