Papua New Guinea’s National Disaster Center gave this information in a letter written to the United Nations (UN). The country said that more than 2,000 people were buried alive in the landslide and devastation has been created. Rescue operations have been going on at the site since Friday and efforts are being made to rescue as many people as possible alive.

Papua New Guinea Squad for T20 World Cup 2024
The countdown for the T20 World Cup (ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 9th Edition) has started. The tournament is going to start from June 1 next month. This tournament will be played under the joint hosting of West Indies and America. A total of 20 teams will play the tournament. The final match of the tournament which started on June 1 will be held on June 29. A total of 55 matches are to be held for T20 World Cup 2024. Papua New Guinea is included in Group-C in this tournament. On May 8 this month, Papua New Guinea announced a 15-member team. The team includes Asadullah Wala (captain), CJ Amini (vice-captain), Eli Nao, Chad Soper, Hila Vere, Hiri Hiri, Jack Gardner, John Kariko, Kabua Wagi Morea, Kipling Doriga, Lega Siaka, Norman Vanua, Sema Kamea, Sese Bau and Tony Ura.
