67 candidates have scored 720
This year on 5th May, NEET exam was conducted at many centers across the country. About 24 lakh candidates have registered for this exam. NTA announced the result on the day when the results of 2024 Lok Sabha elections were to be released. It is being told that this time the results of NEET exam were to be released around 14th June but the result was announced 10 days earlier. After the result came out, all kinds of questions started arising. Actually, initially it was known that this time 23 children got 720 out of 720 marks in NEET exam. After that the news came that due to the grace marks given for a wrong answer in Physics, 44 more children got 720 marks. That is, for the first time it happened that 67 children became toppers in NEET exam simultaneously.
NTA committee will release its report this week
Candidates are very upset since the results of NEET-UG 2024 were declared. Meanwhile, on Saturday, June 8, the National Testing Agency has constituted a 4-member committee to re-evaluate the grace marks given to more than 1,500 candidates. The committee will submit its report within a week. The move comes after widespread allegations of inflated marks, resulting in 67 candidates sharing the top rank, including six candidates from the same exam center.
There is also a controversy over candidates getting 718, 719 marks
Apart from getting 720 marks, this time some candidates have also got 718, 719 marks in NEET UG exam. Questions are also being asked on social media about what is the formula for getting so many marks? Talking about NEET UG 2024 marking scheme, in NEET exam, 4 marks are given for each correct answer while 1 mark is deducted for giving wrong answer, while marks are neither given nor deducted for unanswered questions. The candidate who answers all the answers correctly gets 720 out of 720 marks. If a candidate leaves a question then he should get 716 marks while if he answers a question wrongly then he should get 715 marks. In such a situation, questions are being raised that how did NTA give 718 and 719 marks to the candidates.
