Kochi: On September 27, the Left Front announced its support for the farmers’ agitation against the policies of the Central Government. Left Front Convener A Vijayaraghavan said that the Left Front supports the farmers’ struggle. He made this clear after the Left Front meeting.

Solidarity will be held for the success of the struggle. The demand of the farmers is reasonable. It needs to be supported. It is not correct to say that the industrial progress of Kerala will be ruined by this strike. He said the exams were postponed on the days when the hartal was declared.

Vijayaraghavan refuted the earlier statement that there was no ill intent in the statement of Pala Bishop Joseph Kallarangad. He said that the stand taken by the Chief Minister was for the LDF. The Chief Minister has clarified his position on the issue. The position of the LDF should not be seen as anything else. He said that when things are examined further, opinions about it change.

Such allegations are made because those who call themselves racists have nothing else to say. This is what one would say when there is no compulsion to want facts. Vijayaraghavan said that it should not matter.

Meanwhile, a joint strike committee of all trade unions except BMS has announced a hartal. Milk, newspapers, ambulances, medicines, hospital operations, marriages, patient travel and other services were excluded from the hartal. The situation in the state will be similar to a hartal as more than 100 unions, including motor vehicle workers and bank employees, have expressed support for the Bharat Bandh.

The Left parties had earlier taken a stand in favor of the 27th Bharat Bandh against the anti – people policies of the Central Government. Trade unions are also taking a pro-bandh stance.
