Leaders are dissatisfied
Oommen Chandy and Chennithala complained that there was no consultation when the list of possible DCC presidents was prepared. Former KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran has alleged that he was insulted by being excluded from the discussions. All three have informed the Congress leadership of their grievances.
Groups were not heard
Oommen Chandy and Ramesh Chennithala were not present at the meeting in Delhi when the shortlist of DCC presidents was finalized. Discussions were held in Delhi and Kerala. However, the A and I groups were not consulted at any stage. Oommen Chandy and Ramesh Chennithala complained to Tariq Anwar that the shortlist of DCC presidents was prepared without adequate consultation.
Senior leaders complain that they are trying to form a new group in the name of deleting groups. Oommen Chandy and Ramesh Chennithala have stated that this cannot be accepted. Mathrubhumi reported that Mullappally Ramachandran abducted K Sudhakaran who called for a discussion.
Sudhakaran has confirmed his dominance by suspending KPCC secretary PS Prashanth for criticizing the reorganization talks. The suspension is for six months. Sudhakaran says Prashant’s allegations against the UDF and the Congress are baseless. Sudhakaran has stated that an inquiry will be held under the leadership of Advocate Mohan Kumar into Prashant’s action.
Allegation of peace
PS Prashant alleged that the KPCC had included in the reorganization list those who had worked to defeat the party’s candidates in the Assembly elections. It is reported that many leaders like PS Prashant will be outspoken. According to the report, Prashant was immediately suspended to prevent further disclosure. He also alleged that Perunthachan was behaving like a senior leader in the Congress. He also said that some leaders are deliberately preventing generational change.
