Sudan: demonstrators, refusing the “east route”, block Port-Sudan airport

AA / Khartoum

The Tribal Council of Eastern Sudan announced on Thursday the closure of Port Sudan airport, as part of the escalation of protests for the seventh day in a row, as a sign of rejection of the “eastern lane” included in the peace agreement signed in the capital, Juba, on October 3.

The leader and legal adviser of the “Supreme Council of the Nazirs of Beja”, Ahmed Moussa, told Anadolu Agency: “The airport in Port Sudan has been closed, in response to the slowness of the central government in finding solutions urgent and immediate concern to the problem of eastern Sudan “.
