Subhadra Yojana to Launch On August 17, PM Modi Birthday: To financially empower more than 1 crore women in this state of the country, the state government has started preparations to introduce Subhadra Yojana. Under the Subhadra Yojana, crores of women will get Rs 50,000 every year. This money will be given in the next 5 years. Women in the age group of 21 to 60 years of the state will be eligible to get the benefit of this scheme. The state government will give Rs 10,000 to eligible women in two installments every year. On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, the BJP government of Odisha is going to launch Subhadra Yojana.
Describing the Subhadra scheme as important for women empowerment in Odisha, CM Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday released the final standard operating procedure (SOP) for the Subhadra scheme. The Subhadra scheme, launched for women empowerment, will be launched on September 17 on the occasion of PM Modi’s birthday.

Citing sources close to the BJP, reputed media organization The Indian Express reported that the party’s vote share saw a huge increase in the recent assembly elections due to the support of women. The party’s vote share in the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections was 32.8%, which increased to 40.07% in the 2024 elections. The massive support from women is being considered responsible for the huge increase in vote share.
Earlier on 26 July 2024, in a statement to news agency ANI, Odisha Deputy CM Pravati Parida had said that a provision of Rs 10 thousand crore has been made in the Subhadra scheme. He told that there is a list of 1 crore 50 lakh women for this scheme. Who is to get the benefit of the scheme and how? He had talked about making an SOP to shortlist this list. It was also said that the SOP would be finalized on the basis of feedback received from various sections of Odisha. It was said that this work would be completed by August 15.

During this, Odisha’s Deputy CN had said that Prime Minister Modi will visit Odisha on 17 September and Subhadra Yojana will be launched on the same day. During that time, he had talked about giving financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to women under this scheme. It was also said that on the basis of the feedback received from the people, the final SOP will decide how many people will be able to reach this scheme.
