Titan Company
The profit of Titan Company has declined by 23 percent to Rs 704 crore in the quarter ending September 2024. A year ago, in the July-September quarter, the company had earned a profit of Rs 916 crore. However, during the quarter under review, the company’s sales increased by 25.82 percent to Rs 13,473 crore, which was Rs 10708 crore in the same quarter last year. Titan’s total income increased by 15.83 percent to Rs 14,656 crore. Jewelery business increased by 15.25 percent to Rs 12,771 crore.
Indian Hotels
Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the acquisition of majority stake in Rajscape Hotels. Rajscape Hotels manages 19 resorts and hotels under the ‘Tree of Life Resorts & Hotels’ brand. IHCL has signed an agreement with Ambuja Neotia Group for this.
Hindustan Zinc
The government will sell up to 2.5 per cent stake in Hindustan Zinc (HZL) through offer for sale (OFS) at a minimum price of Rs 505 per share. The government will get more than Rs 5,000 crore from the stake sale. The two-day long OFS will open for institutional bidders on Wednesday and retail investors on Thursday.
SJVN
The profit of public sector company SJVN for the second quarter of the current financial year 2024-25 ending in September has remained stable at Rs 439.90 crore. The company’s profit in the same quarter last year was Rs 439.64 crore. The total income of the company increased to Rs 1,108.43 crore which was Rs 951.62 crore in the same period last year.
NTPC
The Board of Directors of NTPC has approved investment proposals worth about Rs 80,000 crore for 6400 MW thermal power projects. NTPC said in a filing to the stock exchange that its Board of Directors has approved investment for three times 800 MW projects in the second phase of ‘Telangana Super Thermal Power Project’ at an estimated cost of Rs 29,344.85 crore. The Board of Directors has also approved the proposal to double the 800 MW projects under the second phase of ‘Gadarwara Super Thermal Power Project’ at an estimated cost of Rs 20,445.69 crore.
