Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin laid the foundation stone of a new manufacturing facility of leading automobile manufacturer Tata Motors. There will be an investment of Rs 9000 crore on this plant. This facility is expected to create 5000 new jobs. Tata Motors had signed an MoU with the government in March to set up the plant.

Public sector Punjab National Bank has raised Rs 5000 crore by issuing equity shares to qualified institutional investors (QIP). PNB said in the statement that it allotted about 48.19 crore equity shares at the issue price of Rs 103.75 per share. The allotment was at a discount of 4.96 per cent to the base price of Rs 109.16 per share. The bank’s QIP issue was open for subscription from September 23 to 26, 2024.

REC
Public sector REC Limited has raised $500 million through green bonds to support renewable energy projects. REC said the coupon rate (interest) on the five-year bond is 4.75 per cent per annum, which will be paid on a half-yearly basis. Its maturity date is September 27, 2029. This is the first dollar bond to be issued by an Indian public sector enterprise in 2024.

The company has revised the Sensex option trade fee to Rs 3,250 per crore of premium turnover value and the Bankex option trade fee to Rs 3,250 per crore of premium turnover. These changes in charges will come into effect from October 1.
NHPC
Public sector NHPC has entered into a joint venture agreement with Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation (AP Genco) for implementing pumped storage hydropower projects and other renewable energy projects in Andhra Pradesh. The company said that in the first phase, it has been decided to jointly implement two pumped storage projects. After this, other projects will be identified in the next phase.
