Airtel
Bharti Airtel’s profit increased 2.5 times to Rs 4160 crore in the first quarter of the current financial year. This huge growth in profit was due to increase in ARPU and reduction in capex. The company had recorded a profit of Rs 1612.5 crore in the same period a year ago. Operating income increased to Rs 38,506.4 crore, which is 2.8 percent more than Rs 37,440 crore in the June quarter of last year. ARPU increased to Rs 211 in India, whereas it was Rs 200 in the same period a year ago.
Marico
FMCG company Marico Limited’s profit increased by 8.71 percent to Rs 474 crore in the first quarter of the current financial year. The company’s profit was Rs 436 crore in the same quarter a year ago. The company’s operating income increased by 6.7 percent to Rs 2,643 crore, while in the same quarter last year it was Rs 2,477 crore. Total expenses increased by 6.08 percent to Rs 2,075 crore.
Adani Energy Solutions
Adani Energy Solutions has raised Rs 8373.10 crore through QIP. The Adani Group company said that it has raised its first equity in the capital market since its separation from Adani Enterprises Limited and listing in July 2015. The company said that AESL has successfully completed a QIP of Rs 8373 crore (one billion dollars). This is the largest QIP in India’s power sector.
ONGC
Oil and Natural Gas Corporation’s profit fell by 15 percent to Rs 8938.10 crore in the June quarter of the current financial year, while this figure was Rs 10526.78 crore in the same period last year. ONGC wrote off Rs 1669.73 crore spent on survey and digging wells for oil and gas exploration, as these efforts were unsuccessful. Which affected the profit.
Tata Chemicals
Tata Chemicals’ profit for the first quarter of the current financial year ending in June has fallen by 72 percent to Rs 150 crore. In the same period a year ago, the company had earned a profit of Rs 532 crore. The company’s total income also fell to Rs 3836 crore, which was Rs 4267 crore in the same period last year. The company’s total expenditure increased from Rs 3527 crore to Rs 3621 crore.
