Wipro
IT company Wipro’s CTO Subha Tatavarti has resigned. Tatavarti joined Wipro as technology head in April 2021. During her three-year tenure, she led Wipro’s GenAI initiative and launched Wipro AI360. Tatavarti has resigned from the company to explore opportunities outside Wipro. Along with this, the trend of resignation of people at high positions in the company continues.
Nykaa
FSN E-Commerce Ventures, which operates the beauty and fashion products platform Nykaa, said that it has increased its stake in ‘Dot & Key Wellness’ from 39 percent to 90 percent in a cash deal of Rs 265.3 crore. Earlier, the company had a 51 percent stake in Dot & Key. Under this deal, FSN E-Commerce will buy 5,29,286 equity shares from the promoters and existing shareholders of Dot & Key.
NMDC
Public sector company NMDC’s profit increased by 18 percent to Rs 1963.35 crore in the first quarter of the current financial year 2024-25. The company’s profit in the first (April-June) quarter of the last financial year 2023-24 was Rs 1661.04 crore. The total income of the company increased to Rs 5,779.07 crore, which was Rs 5,688.87 crore in the same period last year. Expenditure also decreased to Rs 3,171.12 crore.
Hero MotoCorp
The country’s largest two-wheeler company Hero MotoCorp’s profit for the first quarter of the current financial year ending June 30, 2024 has increased by 47 per cent to Rs 1,032 crore. The company’s profit has increased due to increase in sales. The company had earned a profit of Rs 701 crore in the April-June quarter a year ago. The company’s operating income increased to Rs 10,211 crore from Rs 8,851 crore in the same period of the previous financial year.
Vedantha
Mining giant Vedanta Ltd said its board of directors has approved a proposal to sell 11 crore shares, or 2.60 per cent stake, in Hindustan Zinc through an offer for sale (OFS). However, Vedanta did not give any details about the date of bringing the OFS and its base price. At the end of the June quarter, Vedanta held 64.92 per cent stake in Hindustan Zinc, while the government held 29.54 per cent stake.
