RIL
The government has approved Reliance Industries Limited to set up a 10 GWh battery manufacturing unit under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme of Rs 3620 crore for ACC battery storage. The Heavy Industry Ministry had received seven bids under the global tender issued for the PLI scheme of ACC manufacturing. In this, the maximum budget of Rs 3620 crore was kept for the 10 GWh ACC battery storage unit.
GIC
Institutional investors placed bids worth about Rs 2300 crore under the sale offer to sell 5.95 crore shares or 3.39 percent stake in the public sector General Insurance Corporation (GIC). GIC’s sale offer is the first disinvestment of the government in the current financial year. It started softly and full subscription was received shortly before the market closed. According to data available on BSE, bids came from non-retail investors for 5.81 crore shares. This is 108.49 percent of the 5.35 crore shares reserved for them. Retail investors will be able to bid under the sale offer today on Thursday.
PNB Housing Finance
The board of housing finance company PNB Housing Finance will meet on September 9 to consider issuing non-convertible debentures (NCDs) up to Rs 2,500 crore on a private placement basis in the next six months.
Airtel
Telecom service provider Bharti Airtel said that it has deployed additional spectrum in all 50 districts of Rajasthan, which will provide better 4G and 5G network capacity to the customers in the state. Airtel said that this additional spectrum deployment will also increase Airtel’s reach on highways and railway routes and will increase its presence in rural areas amid rapidly increasing demand for connectivity. The company said in a statement that it has completed the deployment of additional spectrum acquired in July 2024.
Minda Corp
Automotive component manufacturer Minda Corporation Ltd has signed a technology licensing agreement with China’s Sanco Connecting Technology to offer power distribution system solutions for the electric vehicle market. Sanco Connecting Technology is a leader in EV connecting systems. Under the agreement, Minda Corp and Sanco will locally develop EV contact systems, sockets and accessories along with charging gun assembly, bus bar, cell contact system, power distribution units (PDU) and battery distribution units (BDU), the company said in a statement.
Suzlon Energy
The company has executed a conveyance deed with OE Business Park (OEBPPL) for the sale of its corporate office, One Earth property for Rs 440 crore. OEBPPL is a special purpose vehicle whose shares are held by funds managed by 360 One Alternates Asset Management. Upon completion of the sale, the One Earth property will be leased back to Suzlon for 5 years with sub-leasing and licensing rights.
