Nykaa
A public shareholder of FSN E-Commerce Ventures Ltd, the company that operates the beauty and personal care brand Nykaa, sold 1.43 per cent stake for Rs 851 crore through an open market transaction. According to data available about bulk deals on BSE, Harinderpal Singh Banga sold more than four crore shares or 1.43 per cent stake in Nykaa at Rs 208.30 per share. Thus, the total value of the transaction was Rs 851.50 crore. Banga’s stake in Nykaa has come down from 6.40 per cent to 4.97 per cent.
Ashoka Buildcon
Ashok Buildcon has emerged as the lowest bidder for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority’s (MMRDA) Rs 478 crore project. The project involves the design and construction of an elevated road including a slip road from Kalyan-Murbad Road to Badlapur Road to Pune Link Road parallel to the Walduni River, crossing the Karjat-Kasara railway line.
ONGC
Public sector company Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) said it has opened another well of its flagship deep-sea project in the Krishna Godavari basin in the Bay of Bengal. The company said this will help it increase the production of crude oil and natural gas. In January this year, ONGC started producing oil from the KG-DWN-98/2 or KG-D5 block. It is converted into fuels like petrol and diesel in refineries.
Infosys
TriZetto, a subsidiary of leading IT company Cognizant, has filed a lawsuit against Infosys in a US federal court. TriZetto has accused the Bengaluru-based company of stealing business secrets and information related to health insurance software. However, Infosys has issued a statement rejecting all the allegations. The company said that it is aware of the lawsuit and will present its side in the court.
Zydus Lifesciences
Zydus Lifesciences has signed an agreement with Perfect Day Inc to acquire a 50% stake in Sterling Biotech. Under this deal, Perfect Day Inc, a Temasek portfolio company, will sell its 50% stake in Sterling Biotech for an undisclosed amount. Zydus Lifesciences said in a statement that after this deal, Sterling Biotech will become a 50-50 joint venture and will have equal representation on the board of directors.
Ambuja Cement
The promoter of Adani Group has sold about 2.8 per cent stake in Ambuja Cements to investors like GQG Partners for Rs 4,250 crore through open market transactions. The promoter sold the stake in Ambuja Cements as part of its regular adjustment to maintain its stake in the Adani Group at the desired level. Meanwhile, Rajiv Jain-backed GQG Partners bought more than 4.39 crore shares (1.78 per cent stake) in Ambuja Cements through bulk deals in two separate transactions.
IOC, GAIL
Public sector Indian Oil, BPCL and gas company GAIL, along with other major oil companies, have been fined for the fifth consecutive quarter for failing to meet listing norms. This fine has been imposed for not appointing the required number of independent and women directors on their boards of directors.
