Titan
Titan Company is introducing its jewellery brand Tanishq in Bangladesh as part of its expansion plans in the international market. According to the statement, Tata Group company Tanishq has entered into a joint venture agreement with Rhythm Group in this regard. Under this, Tanishq will be made available in the Bangladesh market. According to the joint statement of both the companies, the joint venture will begin with the inauguration of a manufacturing unit in Narayanganj, Bangladesh.
Tata Steel
Tata Steel, a Tata Group company, has converted debt instruments worth $564.75 million (Rs 4713.03 crore) into equity shares in its subsidiary T Steel Holdings Pte Ltd. Even after the conversion, T Steel Holdings Pte Ltd will remain a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Steel. Tata Steel had informed in May that it would invest Rs 17,408 crore in T Steel Holdings Private Limited.
SBI
The Government Appointments Selection Committee Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) has recommended the name of the bank’s senior-most managing director CS Shetty for the post of Chairman of State Bank of India. Shetty was selected as Managing Director in January 2020. He currently handles the International Banking, Global Markets and Technology Department. He will replace Dinesh Kumar Khara, who will retire on August 28.
Vodafone Idea
Loss-making telecom company Vodafone Idea has decided to increase mobile rates by 11-24 percent from July 4. Earlier, Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel had also announced a hike in mobile rates from July 3. Vodafone Idea said that the company has prepared an excellent range of plans full of features to meet the different needs of its consumers.
Bharat Electronics
The company has received a contract of Rs 3,172 crore from Vehicle Corporation for supplying sight and fire control systems for Indian Army tanks. While a separate order of Rs 481 crore has been received for weather related equipment.
UltraTech Cement
The company has commissioned additional 3.35 MTPA clinker and 1.8 MTPA grinding capacity at its Tadipatri unit in Andhra Pradesh. This has increased the capacity of the grinding unit at Jharsuguda in Odisha by 0.4 MTPA.
Godrej Properties
The company has acquired leasehold rights for an 11-acre land parcel in Pune, which offers a developable potential of 2.2 million sq ft with an estimated revenue potential of Rs 1,800 crore. Development on this land will primarily consist of group housing and high street retail. In addition, it acquired 7 acres of land in North Bengaluru for the development of a high-end residential project with a developable potential of 9 lakh sq ft with an estimated revenue potential of Rs 1,200 crore.
