NASDAQ Composite rose by 197 points and closed at the level of 17713.62. While the S&P 500 index rose by about 56 points and closed at the level of 5648.40.

According to provisional data available on NSE, on August 31, 2024, foreign portfolio investors (FIIs) were net buyers and bought shares worth Rs 5318.14 crore. Whereas during this period, domestic institutional investors (DIIs) were net sellers and sold shares worth Rs 3198.07 crore on August 31.
