Stock Market Live: Selling in Asian markets, Dow Jones closed up by 244 points

Stock Market Updates Today : Global signals are looking weak for the domestic stock market today. Selling is being seen in major Asian markets in today’s trading. Earlier on Wednesday, the US markets closed mixed. On Wednesday, the Dow Jones Industrial rose by 244 points and closed at the level of 41198. The NASDAQ Composite fell by 512 points and closed at the level of 17996.92. While the S&P 500 index fell by about 79 points and closed at the level of 5588.27.

Talking about Asia, GIFT NIFTY has seen a decline of 0.27 percent and Nikkei 225 has seen a decline of 2.04 percent. Strait Times has seen a decline of 0.61 percent while Hang Seng has gained about 0.11 percent. Taiwan Weighted has seen a decline of 2.20 percent and KOSPI has seen a decline of 1.27 percent. Shanghai Composite has seen a decline of 0.60 percent.

Crude crosses $ 85 a barrel

Brent crude has risen. In the international market, crude is above $ 85 per barrel. While WTI crude is trading near $ 82 per barrel. Crude has got support due to weakness in the dollar and reduction in reserves in America. There has been a decline in the dollar index and it has slipped from the level of 104 to around 103.70. America’s 10-year bond yield has also weakened and is around 4.20 percent.

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net buyers on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 and bought shares worth Rs 1272 crore. Whereas domestic institutional investors (DIIs) were net sellers on Tuesday and sold shares worth Rs 530 crore on July 16.
