Stock Market Updates Today : Global signals are not looking very good for the domestic stock market. There is a mixed trend in major Asian markets in today’s trading; earlier on Monday, the US markets also had a mixed trend. On Monday, the Dow Jones Industrial rose by 228 points and closed at the level of 41622.08. The NASDAQ Composite fell by 92 points and closed at the level of 17592.13. While the S&P 500 index rose by about 7 points and closed at the level of 5633.09.
Talking about Asia, GIFT NIFTY is showing a weakness of 0.08 percent while Nikkei 225 is seeing a decline of 2.10 percent. Strait Times is up 0.69 percent while Hang Seng is also looking strong by 1.41 percent. Other Asian markets are closed today.

According to the provisional data available on NSE, on Monday, September 16, 2024, foreign portfolio investors i.e. FIIs were net sellers and sold shares worth Rs 1635 crore. Whereas during this period, domestic institutional investors i.e. DIIs were net buyers and they bought shares worth Rs 754.09 crore on 16 September.
