On Friday, the Dow Jones Industrial rose by 38 points and closed at 42,063.36. The NASDAQ Composite fell by 66 points and closed at 17948.32. While the S&P 500 index fell by about 11 points and closed at 5702.55.

Tata Steel commissioned India’s largest blast furnace at its Kalinganagar plant which will help increase the plant’s production capacity from 3 million tonnes per annum to 8 million tonnes per annum. The blast furnace is a key component of an integrated steel manufacturing plant, which is required to produce hot metal even at temperatures up to 1500 Celsius. Tata Steel in November 2018 launched the second phase of Rs 27,000 crore to expand its Kalinganagar project in Odisha.

Debt-laden telecom company Vodafone Idea has awarded a Rs 30,000 crore contract to Nokia, Ericsson and Samsung for the supply of 4G and 5G network equipment. This contract is for 3 years.
